Redelivery of parcels

Sending fictitious invoices

Nuisance SMS messages containing fraudulent invoices have been a common pattern for a long time. They typically request payment for subscription fees such as paid video viewing services. Rather than simple payment requests, the mainstream is now contacting people about overdue payments. Many of these messages try to get people to pay immediately by saying that they will take legal action or sue you if you don’t pay, and dataset some people accidentally contact them because the contact information is included in the SMS.

A type of spam SMS that has been in the news in recent years is a parcel redelivery notification. A typical example is an SMS sent by someone pretending to be a parcel delivery company, as a notification of absence. The message says that to request redelivery, you need to apply via the URL listed in the SMS or call a phone number. Although there are some suspicious aspects, such as the absence of a recipient’s who access corporate technological name, many people end up clicking on the URL or calling, thinking that the parcel is probably sent by an acquaintance.

Request to change account information

A common example of SMS spam is an email requesting account information. A common example is an SMS urging you to change your password after an unauthorized login. Although a URL for changing your phone database password is included, this is a typical pattern of a phishing scam. When you enter account information, the goal is often to obtain your password, so this is a scam that poses the risk of unauthorized use.
