Launched two years ago by Nicolas Vanbremeersch and Mathieu Maire du Poset , Tank Media has become one of the leading players in media entrepreneurship in France. Building on this experience, it is nurturing new ambitions with Le Tank Media: stimulator of media the imminent opening of a 1,700m² space dedicated to emerging media and new projects. Interview with Mathieu Maire du Poset.
An ecosystem to be structure
The press is in a bad way. Voluntary redundancy plans have been announce in several engineering email list major audiovisual groups. The climate in the media world is gloomy, to say the least. This contrasts with the optimism displayed by Tank Media with its slogan “the future of the media is bright.” According to Mathieu Maire du Poset, it is mainly the major media outlets that are in a bad way : “transforming them from the inside is complicated,” he admits. But they do not represent the entire spectrum of media present in France. There is real vitality in media entrepreneurship . This is one of the observations he was able to make through the prism of crowdfunding , which he considers a “very interesting monitoring tool for trends and weak signals.” Whether they are media professionals, entrepreneurs from other sectors, or enthusiasts who want to become professionals, there is strong demand .
The problem so far is that this ecosystem
doesn’t cohere, doesn’t form a community .” There is no structure within which one can share one’s seo best practices experience. The lack of structure adds to that of the lack of skills. The founders noted that there is “a lack of know-how on digital. Many use it as a medium, but few as a tool by conducting real reflections on the subject.” This is also the case for entrepreneurial know-how: “many come from editorial and are not trained for it .” It is on the basis of all these observations that Tank Media was born by proposing an offer to this existing demand.
An organization open to the outside world

Mathieu Maire du Poset explains that “the goal of Tank . Media is to encourage the emergence of new entrepreneurship in the media, to help new generations of media to grow, to structure themselves and to seek the keys to their profitability and their independence” . Tank Media is based on four pillars:
