He has worked at several print publishing companies and an educational technology company focusing on content development of instructional materials.

He is the only member from the Philippines in the Creative Commons global network, a volunteer on several Wikimedia projects such as the Encyclopedia of Philippine Heritage, and a member of the Election Committee of the Wikimedia Foundation. Delmar received his Ph.D. He holds a PhD in chemistry from the University of Chicago and held postdocs in biophysics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and chemistry at the University of Southern California.
